In San Teodoro there a several waterfalls and scenic spots, including Tukuban Falls, Binaybay Falls, Lambingan Falls, Botolan Falls, Aras Falls and caves, Punta(Ilag Point) and Tabunan Hot Springs.
San Teodoro is the next area down from Puerto Galera, about 20km South of Puerto Galera, as shown on this map:
But exactly where is it?

Frustrated? Feel like letting off some steam? Then we have the weapon for you, and believe us you’ll feel much better afterwards. Or maybe you just want a relaxing afternoon taking in some target practice followed by a cool drink? You can do it at the Puerto Galera Range!
Those prices are as at June 2013.
The Puerto Galera Shooting Range has a variety of weapons to suit all, from the .22 to the mighty .45, feel like something more exciting? How about a 5.56mm M16 in full auto or even an AK 47 – it’s a blast!!!!!
Just need to sharpen up some skills or has it been a long time since you fired a weapon? We have excellent instructors to get you back ‘on target’, or maybe you’ve never shot before?

The Tukuran Falls are also known as the hidden paradise. It may involve a Carabao ride to get there, and that is after the boat ride, and not forgetting the six rivers you have to cross.
The Carabao ride is actually a Carabao pulling a cart, for a 15 minute trip, but you could walk if you… No… not me 🙂
Agbalala Falls is not actually in Puerto Galera, but it is a popular spot for some to make the trip to visit.
It may take an hour or two to get there from Puerto Galera, using a boat first. It is on the way West, towards Occidental Mindoro.
A video of these falls is shown on youtube here:
The Ponderosa Golf Club in Puerto Galera has a really good view from this photo.
Although only a 9 hole course, there is also a second tee position for each hole should players like to play a full 18 holes. It is quoted as being “Essentially a 9 hole par 3 course with attitude”
This may be an interesting golf course, as it is strategically spread over a few hectares of steep mountain-side and in some places the fairways literally plunge from tee to green. Despite the fact that transportation is by your own two feet you could be forgiven for thinking that a round of golf here is more akin to a steep roller-coaster ride than the usual stroll around manicured fairways and greens.
It is also 2,000 feet above sea level.
Are YOU game for a game ?
Or… Is this more your thing…
The clubhouse offers a selection of snacks, meals, cold drinks, alcoholic beverages and otherwise, with sunsets to die for.
Ponderosa is swept by cool sea breezes year-round and is also a popular destination for hikers, bird-watchers and mountain biking enthusiasts.
The Ponderosa Recreational Eco Park and the Extreme Sports Adventure Park is situated in Santo Nino, Puerto Galera. Head out of Puerto Galera towards Baletero and White Beach.

The Tamaraw Falls are located in the Villaflor area of Puerto Galera in Mindoro Oriental, near San Teodoro.
Location is at the KM.37 marker, 37 kms North of Calapan and 15kms South of Puerto Galera.
The Tamaraw Falls, with a height of about 130 metres, are a series of smaller cascading waterfalls finally combining into a single cascade falling into a pool at the foot. This waterfall, being right on the side of the Puerto Galera – Calapan road are an easy attraction for passers-by, as well as those seeking out the location.
The trip to the Tamaraw Falls is most commonly done by a Jeepney ride on the Puerto Galera to Calapan route, but get off at the falls, and then get another Jeepney back to Puerto Galera. The journey should be about 30 minutes, and no more than about 50 peso per person on a Jeepney, each way. (2013)
[mappress mapid=”4″]
Hotels can often offer a tour package to the Tamaraw Falls, or you can obtain your own transport, using a tricycle for example.
An example price that I have seen, for a Tamaraw Falls Tour Package from White beach, was almost 5,000 pesos for 2 or more people. I went past the falls in a Jeepney the other day, and the cost was under 200 pesos each, but that was going much further to Calapan, and was for the return journey too.
I should stop next time and have a good look at the falls, and maybe get some photos to go here.
Once we know it well, may we could arrange economical tours for people 😉
